Continuous planning (also known as rolling forecast) constitutes a periodically orientated planning form, with which already effected planning is actualised, substantiated, and revised. The level of detail of such activities is considerably more accurate in the near future than the planning intensity of periods further in the future. With flexible controlling and timing the requirement figures from the planning run can be incorporated into the new schedule and compared with the previous plan. Deviations are displayed via tolerance limits, so that they can be corrected manually. If necessary, the rolling forecast can be sent by EDI. The receipt of incoming goods ensues through referencing the plan, which automatically actuates debiting from a blanket order. | | |
