WIKA Systems AG implements process-orientated methods according to the rules of the RUP (Rational Unified Process) which they optimally combine with prototyping in order to guarantee efficient progress of the highest quality.
Inception
Initialisation of the project with the involvement of all persons participating in the project.
Installation of the entire system environment. If required this is carried out in cooperation with the hardware suppler.
After the loading of the country-specific modules and the set up based on our best practice model we are ready to start the prototyping and basic training for the project manager and the core team.
Elaboration
Detailed analysis with the prototyping approach. The workshops are intended to establish how the processes are to be applied in each sub-area and to determine the data structures.
The results of these clarifications lead to the so-called detailed concepts, which in turn are directly configured in real terms as prototypes in the application.
Subsequently, a central steering committee meeting is held, which clears all conceptual decisions (processes, structures, functions, amendments) for further processing, the co-called approval of the basic model.
Construction
The aim of this phase is to finish implementing the structures as determined in the detailed analysis for productive use by means of parameterisation, acquisition of all structural data and help tables.
The programming requirements arise from the results of the workshops.
On the basis of predefined test procedures the individual adjustments are tested for accuracy and completeness.
The individual adjustments are tested as a complete system in their integration to each other for their continuously, logically and physically correct conformance to the requirements in line with the detailed specification and operation concept.
Transition
Following the test phase the end users are trained in the operation of the system and the live-start scenario is developed. One very important component in this respect is the actual data import.
A final steering committee meeting is held to decide on going live.
In the first phase of about 4 weeks after the productive start WIKA Systems AG accompanies live operation, so that problems can be solved or assistance can be provided within a minimum time either on site or by means of remote maintenance. | | | |
